World's Quickest Homemade Bread Recipe

This recipe is the fastest and best homemade bread loaf recipe I've ever made! We make it weekly at our house but it doesn't last more than 1-2 days! Use this bread for french toast and top it with pecan butter for the best breakfast experience EVER!

Ingredients

• 1 and 1/2 cups very warm water (I use my hottest tap water) 
• 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
• 1 and 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
• 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
• 1 and 1/2 tablespoons butter, softened or olive oil 
• 4(ish) cups all purpose flour

Instructions

1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine very warm water, sugar, yeast, and salt.
2. Add the softened butter/oil and 1 cup of flour, and stir together.
3. Put the dough hook on your mixer and add the rest of the flour. The dough should be slightly sticky but pulling away from the bowl.
4. Knead for about 5 minutes and continue to add flour as kneeded (see what I did there?). After 5 minutes or so, the dough should be smooth and elastic.
5. Prepare a standard bread loaf pan with nonstick spray. Shape your dough and place in the loaf pan. Alternatively, for a more rustic look, you can shape your dough into a loaf and lay it on a cookie sheet and slice a few slits across the top with a sharp knife. 
6. Cover loosely with a towel and let rise for 20-30 minutes (or until doubled in size). Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
7. When the loaf has doubled in size, remove the towel and put it in the oven.
8. Bake for about 20-30 minutes, depending on your oven and how crispy you like your crust. The longer you leave it in, the crispier your crust will be.
9. Let cool for as long as you can stand it
