Pecan Shortbread Bars
These bars are rich, buttery and nutty with just the right amount of crunch! Anytime you make a shortbread recipe, be sure you use a high-quality butter.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) quality unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecan pieces
Preheat oven to 350 degree. Line a 8x8 square baking dish with parchment paper.Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Mix together flour, sugar, salt in a medium bowl. Pour melted butter over the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Do not over-mix. Spread evenly in the prepared dish and then top with toasted pecans, pressing them gently into the surface.Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan. Cut in the squares and serve.
